Still doing the same type of stuff! This is cool though, getting 30 seconds to draw something like a head shape is fun, and I think it quickly lets you draw this similar shape from different angles, I think in the next while i'll probably continue to do the same with different parts of the body, for now I'm enjoying drawing the head. There is plenty wrong, but each time a line comes out wrong if I spend a few extra seconds to correct it it helps to build in my mind what's going wrong, or at least it feels that way. Buy a China Marker, it's awesome!

More heads, and some arms because sometimes on that site they have some poses where you can't really see the head. Maybe i should be trying to draw it from the angle it should be at behind whatever it's behind, probably would be good practice.

started drawing heads from the posemaniacs site, each drawing trying to get the head drawn from a different angle, it's fun!

Did some gesture drawing today using posemaniacs.com was kind of fun to draw with a china marker a bit again, forgot I had that thing. After watching the gesture drawing lecture at CTN(was his name Alex Woo?), I feel like I have a slightly better idea as to what i'm doing when I try to do gesture drawing.

biiiiiird.

Dead Cowboy. Problems with the length of arms in comparison to eachother, where the right foot lies in comparison to the left, the twist of the torso to the hips is off, so if he were lying like this he would probably roll over to SR. Lots to learn!

Watching a documentary saw a guy carrying his kid through a mall, kinda like this.

Kinda cheating today and reusing what I just quickly did for my assignment. I've never tried this before, drawing mouth shapes... not sure if it's going to be helpful or not, but kinda makes you think about what's important... If I were to do it again i'd make sure I hit all the most important shapes, I think I might try it before syncing my 2 person.

Marsh - 01/07/2012

Not sure what's with this thing's legs or proportions. Maybe I should look at a dog once in a while.

Marsh - 01/06/2012

Just tried to draw this suitcase shape in succession a few times, so that when it's closer to the camera you see a little less of one edge. I suppose I should have been using 1 point above the page now that I think about that.

Not really sure what this is, more practice for ellipses I suppose. But really kinda doesn't make sense. Unless those rings surrounding that elongated egg shape are rubber and cross in the back. Let's just say that's what's going on.

Just trying to figure out how to use the cube when finding perspective for a character. At the eyeline you should be looking up or down at the character depending on where they are in the scene and how tall they are. You can also use this cube to find better placement for the feet, which I didn't do here. or the hands in this case as well. I think moving forward it might be a good idea to figure out things like that before drawing, having a mental image of what i'm drawing before drawing it. Weight on the arms shouldn't be forward like that, unless he were walking backwards, the arms should be back behind the shoulders. All things I think about when animating, but for some reason don't click with me when drawing, maybe it comes back down to planning, and thumb nailing, which is probably what I should be doing in the first place.

"When you draw, don't doodle but LEARN. Doodling means that you are just spending time doing random drawings, and you are not trying to learn."

From The Perfect Bait, with that said, disregard that eye in the top left.

Keep thinking of squash and stretch in the face, that James Chaing was talking about. Weight is all off, silhouette is crap. Might help if that back leg was back further. proportions are weird too, might help to study some anatomy at some point in my life. So much to do!
